  1. Just subscribed to your channel its refreshing to see a young lady with great core values and drive. It is awesome! I wish back in the 80's I was more self sufficient instead of just doing my thing. Now in my 50's I've learned how important it is especially in today's times. Cheers young lady great job! From Massachusetts

  2. I THINK OR I HOPE THAT WE MAY BE NEIGHBORS SOON (BY SOON I MEAN IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS).

MY BFF IS FROM OREGON BUT WE LIVE IN PHOENIX ARIZONA AND ITS HOT! SO FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I SERIOUSLY STARTED THINKING ABOUT GOING TINY AND GOING OFF GRID.

FIRST I WAS THINKING OF GOING NORTH IN PHOENIX LIKE FLAGSTAFF ARIZONA. BUT MY BFF IS A PHOTOGRAPHER AND SHE HAD THE MOST AMAZING PHOTO'S OF OREGON THAT I THOUGHT I CAN BUY LIKE 25 ACRES NORTH OF PORTLAND AND START A TINY HOME COMMUNITY FOR SENIOR WOMEN WHO WANT TO LIVE LIKE ME, OFF GRID AND TINY.

I ALSO FIGURED I WANTED TO START A GARDEN WITH US WOMEN TAKING CARE OF IT.

(SORRY I TEND TO GO ON AND ON WHEN IT COMES TO THAT DREAM) SO ANYWAYS THAT IS WHAT I AM PLANNING TO DO! THX FOR READING IT! ❤❤❤

  3. Being originally from northern Maine I would definitely buy some green lumber and if well I shouldn't say if I'm assuming your husband knows how to do a chainsaw because he's very handy. And I would get a wood splitter so that's how my family does it it's cheaper to buy green wood and you split it and there's a way to pilot and then you have some that's dry. Depending on how long it takes to dry in your area I'm not quite sure you may have to use it the following year but at least you're head of the game and you keep doing that every year you'll be ahead of the game

  4. Dryer lint stuffed into 1/3 toilet paper roll, and some wax drippings (from candles or crayons), is a very good fire starter!! My husband was horrible at starting fires in the morning, so I made these little fire starters and it made a workd of difference for him.

  5. We have a wood fireplace and I have learned tree bark is great once you have hot coals. It takes longer to burn and is great to throw on before bed. I also learned there are a lot of people selling cords of wood that are not a true cord! Always bring a measuring tape and know the true dimensions. But your friend is amazing! If your husband has a chainsaw you can contact tree removal services and they will bring you the trimmings to your house for free to save them dump fees.

  6. you can get great fans that run off the heat of the stove — we have one and it really pushes the heat great. they sit on the stove itself and once hot the fan turns!

  7. Hi Becky! Thanks for another great video. I found you through an ad last summer and love your enthusiasm. I was wondering if you could please update your playlists to include recent videos? I just ordered new ear pods and I’ll be able to listen to you from my garden that YOU inspired me to start❣️ Thank you for that and all your other videos on how-tos and explaining The Who, what, when and where of how it gets done. Im in my fifties and fight disability and chronic pain daily. You’re such an inspiration for this lady and so many others just starting out with home preservation. Thanks again for everything!
