  1. Our Canadian (Toronto)pumpkins get 30'C weather all summer for 5 months. Harvest is in October. They love lots of rain and heat. Fungus can be a problem late in the season when it gets cooler. The leaves get powdery mildew.
    Congrats on having a Canadian summer/ Aussie Winter .

  2. Your vine is mostly likely growing so good because of all the rain we had in summer. I do have a question about growing pumpkins, i can grow the vine, and it flowers, but the next day or so the flower is found on the ground, I've know idea why the flower falls off??

  3. I've been able to grow different varieties of radishes outside in the texas summer heat with no issues. I was able to grow them even when I was new to gardening and didn't have any mulch on my garden beds! Now that I'm more "seasoned," I've been able to grow them outside all year long. Looking forward to trying out growing other out of season plants

  4. What are your winter day/night minimums? I’ve lost some crops due to early frosts down here. They’ve been hammered and we haven’t had a chance to get our plastic houses set up or frost covers. ☹️

  5. Hello Mark, You were talking about your Pumpkin vine. Most people may say what the heck are you going to do with all that pumpkins. I'll tell you and your listeners what I do at the end of the season. I wash the pumpkins then I cut them in half trim out all of the seeds. I wash and dry and store the seeds in glass fruit Jar marked and dated so you will know when they may be getting old. These seeds will keep very well for 6-8 years. Now back to the pumpkin halves. I have 3 large metal dishpans I turn them upside down in one of those dishpans. put a couple of cups of water in the bottom so they don't scorch. Bake for about 90 minutes till the pumpkin is tender. I then remove the skin, cut into cube and blend it into a nice smooth puree. You can freeze it in ziploc bags or put it into fruit Jars place into a pressure cooker for 30 minutes at 10 Lbs. pressure. Use it over time in pies, cookies, pumpkin bread, and fruitcakes. I love them. Just by growing and canning or freezing these excess baggage type of vegetables you save tons of money and time by not having to run to the store for canned pumpkin. Jessie Arkansas USA

  6. Here in South Texas, we had everyday over 100° F everyday. So hot hot, and a lot of rain…so humidity is around 100% everyday as well. I've had(1st year this happened) burnt leaves….literally burnt. actual charcoal. Craziest thing I had ever seen.

  7. Your seasons are very different and you don’t have winter and daylight hours less variable. Great what your doing there, maybe put up the zones. Stan nsw and vic not the same, although Melbourne is more temperate.

    Love your videos. I was just wondering though, what is the 'right' growing season for pumpkins, cucumbers and zucchini here in the subtropics because seed packets and any research that I do always say spring and summer is best, so I'm a bit confused?
