  1. Love this! Last year was my first year gardening…did container gardening just to see if I'd like it. My birthday was last week and I got 10 raised beds for this year. Short story long, I used the tomato cages on my green pepper plant and they did amazing. And for my tomato plants I used one of the green stakes from hd and that worked great. Just another option! Loved your book! Happy gardening and God bless

  2. Thanks for this video. We just got the 3 cattle panels (8 foot only) delivered by Tractor Supply, we have a small garden for now. Your T-Posts look sturdy, what kind are those?

  3. This is so useful. Thank you for sharing. Oh! And I have your book! I love it and have already given 2 copies to some like-minded gardening friends.

I have a question about garden planning. I have planted several indeterminate tomatoes and now realize they are going to shade my next row in the afternoon. Do you have a video about garden planning? My rows run probably NE-SW. I think I should have turned them to follow the sun, E-W. Thanks for all you do and God bless y'all!

  4. For those who dont have a truck or trailer to carry the cattle panels, I have been using welded wire fencing that comes in a roll for a few years and it has performed super well for me here in the desert.

  5. Ever think of hooking your calvanised steel trellis to a system using some principals of électroculture. Having a "paratonnère antenna " dont k ow how to say in english….it could draw ions from the earth and accelerate healthier growth. No petro-chemicals. Many benefits

  6. Hey Jess, love the info about this trellis – my experimental plant this year is a Loofa!! (don't know why!) and I definitely need a cattle panel for it. But my question is, do you not rotate your tomato crops each year?

  7. Built one this weekend based off this video! Doing another one next weekend 🙂 I hope you can do a video OR mention different options to plant on the side/front of tomatoes, i am thinking of putting in onion and garlic in front/between the tomatoes, what do you think? What else will be low enough and feed the family?

  8. I really like your helpful videos! I am trying the cattle panels for tomatoes this year. They are staked about a foot above the ground. I planted the tomatoes nearly directly under the panels which I realize now isn't ideal. Should I try to move them now, or do you think it will be easy to train them to one side? They are just now reaching the bottom of the trellis, and I have been pruning away the lower leaves and suckers.
