The easiest way to talk with me is on IG and I give daily up dates of what I have going on around the homestead over there: Instagram @Acre Homestead

I bought my pressure canner last summer and I wish I bought it years ago! I love pressure canning! I hope you enjoy watching how I make bone broth and how to pressure can it.

  1. Do you have to use new lids and rings every time you are canning something ? If so what do you do with the ones you used ones.
I’m so new to all of this but so interested.

  2. I love this channel. I have been interested in canning for a while. This week I made tomato sauce and canned it for the first time. I had a tiny deck garden this year, but next year I plan to have a decent garden. I'd love to learn how to can it all. I have a lemon tree and blueberry bush. I'm looking forward to making my sugar free jam with it.

  3. The calcium you need for your tomato plants can be obtained by your saving your chicken egg shells. Wash, dehydrate, and powder them. I think they also help avoid blossom endurance rot. Good luck. I really wish I had the energy to do all you do

  4. Fat separator?!? I need to investigate this witchcraft. My peasant ass has been chilling and spooning off fat since the dark ages. Lol

  5. I have continued to binge watch your video’s! I would love to make the bone broth!! I will save my vegetable scraps for this. I am afraid of using the pressure canner…..comes from when I was growing up….I am 65 and still afraid. Would it be alright to store the broth in freezer bags instead of jars?

  6. I have celiac disease and have to be very careful about gluten. Does anyone know if Costco's rotisserie chickens are gluten free? We used to have a Sam's membership, and I could eat their rotisserie chickens, but we haven't used our membership much in the last couple of years and I've let it lapse. Just the other day, we were wondering whether we should renew it or maybe try Costco instead.

  7. I've always heard that vinegar is bad on your skin. I don't even keep it in the house, can't stand the smell anyway. I know from your other videos you say you clean with vinegar, just be sure to wear gloves.

  8. Great job! I buy beef marrow bones from the butcher, use many scraps/veggies with a little vinegar, salt, pepper. Need to learn to can it. This video was great! Thanks!
