  1. Off topic, but do know of the unrecognized purpose of wild parsnip? I have been graced with much abundance of it all around us. I hope you can tell me either why it’s there or what it is good/useful for…. other than a nasty rash of the juices and sunshine get on your skin.

  2. Hi Huw how about a walk around of your new poly tunnel and a bit of an explanation on construction and size, cheers mate your video's are really good.

  3. I love using wild/alpine strawberries as a ground cover/instead of mulch.
Because they are a lot smaller plants than even strawberries, so most other things I want to grow are taller.

They have very shallow roots, so they don’t interfere with the other growth much and well they taste amazing.
They aren’t suitable for commercial purposes because they are such fragile berries. But they are some of the most delicious berries on earth.
They are sweeter and more fragrant than your typical strawberry.

They also really help keep weeds away from the beds.
Just a little weeding in spring before the wild strawberries leaf growth have fully recovered from winter. After that next to non.

If you get a verity with runners you can just plant two plants in the bed, come back a month later and you have a ground cover for the whole bed.

I find they seem to thrive in a lot of parts of Europe,

  4. Great content, Huw.
God willing, we're moving to the countryside and we'll have our own piece of land. Looking forward to making things grow in there. I already bought your book 🙂
I have a question regarding the raised beds. I noticed you use different materials for the boards. What kind of wood (or other material) do you recommend for the raised beds side boards?
Thank you and keep up the amazing work.

  5. I know it’s pitiful, but I just learned that you can plant a seedling just with bare roots. I’m always worrying that I’m doing things wrong, so I really appreciate these nuggets of information!

  6. I've just subscribed, with God's help as well I know i' ll be able to learn a lot of gardening tips from you. Your like an encyclopedia may the Lord bless you for taking your time to teach us.

  7. I grow potatoes in pallet containers, gradually adding soil when the potatoes grow. I don't like growing potatoes in plastic containers. Thank you for your videos and good luck.
