  1. Super looking garden. All the fencing, the post and tunnel, the tomato stakes, the plant fabric, the power equipment, Those are your helpers and tools, but they only give aid to you in your quest to grow your food. I admire the grit and hard work. I can see James has been right there for you, and – sorry, forgot his name, but I know your son is out there learning to grow food. It will bless your life.. Amen for you. We went to a memorial today for one of my Mom's cousins. She was 94, a country lady, that was a power in her church, a cook, and a counselor.

  2. I also use crushed egg shells for calcium. I dry them out and then mulch them into granules and sprinkle it around the garden plants and flowers.

  3. 2 diff sources had really bad looking tom. plants worse than your grt .50 deal they wanted aprx. $4. still, what a joke! I’ll pass ✔️ I already have numerous types in & ripening Thank God.!

  4. We have to till every year because over winter the granite works it’s way up and the soil is so rocky and hard I couldn’t garden in it. I would love to do raised beds but I wouldn’t have as much planting space so we till and amend soil every year. Yes you deserve a break!

  5. It's late and I've been behind getting the garden planted but it's the first year for the garden yay!. Getting all the beds built and filled is half the battle. I just about have everything planted today and of course we are expecting thunderstorms and possibly large hail. But I couldn't wait any longer. Nighttime temps were in the 40s here just a couple weeks ago. Now I'm making plans for the greenhouse. Question about the water feeders – you said you put sand in the bottom. So you fill the cone with sand?

  6. Waiting on the rain forecast for today. Its late! Got any tips on brussel sprouts? Planning on staking them this year to keep them contained and growing vertical. I have a small garden and thoes things can get soooo big! ☂

  7. I get the woven black fabric at an Amish garden supply store in Fredericksburg Ohio, much cheaper and you can buy it by the foot, I just put it around blueberry bushes because I cannot keep weeding like I have been, I hope it works! I am wondering if it keeps the plants to hot???…

  8. **I'm stopping about 2:50 to say, "I feel you on the $3.98 per tomato plants!!!!" Our starts didn't do very well this year and we paid through the nose for plants! The first trip my 11yo daughter and I bought tomato plants. The second trip my husband was with me and I wanted one more tray of plants and he decided he'd like more peppers, so he added 2 trays to the cart. When we were given our total, he turned white. lol He thought (even though I TOLD him what I'd paid for tomato plants before…) they were $3.98 per FLAT. LOL We wish!!
**Yes! Garden goodies can be very expensive and we have to accumulate them slowly and take care of them. Funny story: Last year we put in a new garden and we used weed fabric on much of it. An older neighbor walked over to talk gardening with us and he said to me, "I don't know what you paid for that fabric, but it's going to save you a LOT of work this summer!" 😉 He was right!
    **Great video!

  9. I feel you, I have cucumbers and winter squash left to plant. I need to find room for some okra. The corn is up and the tomatoes are in. All 151 plants that I started form seed in March. My garden is full and so is my heart. I know my ancestors were with me every step of the way.

  10. Lots of work. Re the sweet potatoes. Do you have the kind that branch out and Stuart new rooting points for more potatoes? If so can you use the fabric in a way that won't block the e xtra rooting point? Good luck with the bunnies. My nemesis are ch I punks and a racoon that steals my peaches
