For us, 2021 brought lots of deaths. I have attended more funerals this year than I ever have in my entire life. And no, they weren't all covid related, only 2. I would say "good riddance 2021 and don't let the door hit ya on the way out," but 2022 could be worse. My only new years resolution is to draw closer to God. He is our Sustainer, our Comforter, our Strength. May the Lord richly bless you Patara, and everyone else here. If you are breathing and reading this, praise God for keeping you!
I see people getting dogs for guarding chickens etc and think well its a farm dog breed and shouldn't need training. Then the dog is thrown in with animals with no training and bad things happen. They blame the dog and then get rid of the dog.

The museum was amazing thank you for sharing. You are back and energized. I'm recovered from Achilles tendon injury I had last May. I spent my growing season on crutches painful therapy then a walking boot. I am overly excited to get back to my growing season and teaching my brands also. Blessings

Wish I had started preparing sooner. Day after Christmas we had a huge storm come through interior Alaska. We got 3 foot of snow and freezing rain. The rain caused our 1 stores rood to collapse. It's 100 miles to any other store. And roads are not clear. No that the storm has moved out teno has dropped to -40.
I have a little I'd started stocking but things are getting slim….this weather is supposed to last all week. Glad I homeschool my kids and they don't have go out of the house for school, except for feeding animals.

I love your common sense talks. We are setting up our off grid homestead in TN.
Oh, Patara. The image of the Indians being instructed to "Turn in your weapons. The Government Will Take Care of You" gave me chills. We all know how that wound up. The music was haunting. Take heed people. I'm 70 and in poor health, but I'm doing what I can on my own. I'll go down fighting.
I also have two dogs that have to be kept tethered most of the time. And I have gotten lots of negative commentaries about it. It gets tiresome explaining that they are CRAZY! They have good lives. Well fed. Well socialized. Off the thether for outings as often as possible. HOWEVER.. once loose without constant supervision, they are gone. Just run like idiots to the busy main road. Or to the neighbors house to fight with their dogs. So I do the best I can (for my age and under less than good life circumstances) to keep them safe. Same as you are doing with your working dog. Too many people like sticking their noses in others' business.

Yeah, the weather's weird. Here in South N.J. the temp was 62 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday, the 2nd of January , 2022, and overnight the temperature dropped to 13 degrees F; with a foot of snowfall the very next morning starting round 6:30 AM till 4:00 PM. Wow man. Not as weird as the times we're all living in though! (That being the political , and social climate !)

So nice to know that I'm not the only cautious one with my animals. People tell me I'm to cautious but I don't loose my livestock.
I can't wait to get over covid so I can hit the ground running working on my fence and garden again

Thank you for sharin', blessings abound this new year for your family! I pray this is the year my husband and I find our 5 acres. We just kicked covid in the teeth over Christmas break with my husband and our boy. Not sure how us 4 girls didn't get it especially with me caring for two sick people other then GOD covering us all. My 2022, it's going to include more knowledge into my brain, continue building the pantry and skills, work more with growing out my quail for meat instead of just eggs. I'm going to KEEP growing in every way possible. I'm going to continue reading the Bible and making it deliberate to understand His word. And by golly, I'm going to continue to take my ashwagandha to keep my emotional health in good standing. Forward we all go with a deliberate mind on goals to achieve! 🙂

The first power failures occur in Germany. in addition, electricity prices will double in the near future. old people are already unable to pay their electricity bills in the big cities. Bad times are coming – save where you can, don't buy anything new. tries to reduce your previous lifestyle so that you are not shocked later
