#2022 #gardening #growyourownfood
Thank you for all the inspiration and beauty you share as well as fantastic gardening info. I will look forward to sharing 2022 with you. Your channel is such a brite spot for me. Gardening is a connection to the richness of life to me. I have homeschooled 5 children for 25 years. It connected my children with their food and offered a good work ethic and tons of practical science and a a side benefit our food.
Now I have fallen in love with gardening at 60. I can try and explore so many different things and as a side benefit offers food and health. I miss all my helpers but over the last 2 years I switched to raised beds so I can continue my passion for many years to come. Bless you and yours.
The satisfaction of eating what you have grown
I really enjoy your channel and find it inspiring to get my veg garden running better and bigger. Growing food to me is so enpowering to sit down to meals that I have grown entirely is the best feeling. To look over my garden and feel some security in these uncertain times is so helpful.
I have been growing banana squash each year…it is amazing and can reach 60 lbs…kin da like butternut on steroids. To control huge vines take wire or wood pegs and stick in ground to direct. Freezes well and very good as a soup base.
I like your videos, very interesting for me and my family. I have learned a lot about no dig gardering and vegetables. Happy new year. Bo
Growing edible plants means to me: plenty of healthy foods to prepare and eat and a nice reason to be active outdoors (in the garden).
Growing food for me means growing edibles for everyone and everything connected to my garden. Watching plants grow and knowing someone or something will enjoy it’s taste or vista be they human, bird, chicken, bee or good bug. My garden feeds just not my family. It welcomes insects which help keep the more destructive ones away, worms that appreciate leaves and greens scattered for their pleasure, birds that play amongst my flowers and ponds while nibbling on seeds and food left for their choice, bees that help to produce the environment for growth and beauty and chickens that forage daily, helping my earth to aerate and regenerate.
Gardening and growing food and flowers makes me feel remarkably thankful. I'm amazed and truly respect that everything in Nature is so much more complex, everything is purposeful, everything has its place…and yet Nature supports me while I try my hand at it and continue to learn from it. How incredible!!
Gardening is life!
To me growing food is watching God's gifts given to me over and over, nutrition, love, and sustainable.
I haven't actually grown anything yet but I'm planning on following the "Veg in one bed" plan this year. I look forward to be more sustainable and hope that my toddler can grow a healthy relationship with food and the environment by being my little garden helper.
Thank you For Sharing your knowledge. We are about to start a garden next week at our new home. So it comes very handy.
Growing food for me personally means health, but food or not, the most important thing is to grow, grow anything, build soil, connect with the earth, touch it and source energy from it.
Thank you for the work you do, for the knowledge and the inspiration you share
Happy New year and good luck with all your projects : ))
First I compliment you on your channel which I enjoy watching. I have been battling for a few years to grow my own vegetables on my property with clayey soil which is very hard in dry conditions. i have changed tack and decided to import better growing material and so far thinks are look good. I now feel encouraged and I hope to soon have most of my vegetables from my garden. Watching you videos made me change my thinking so thanks.
gardening is my zen place, where I slow down and smell the earth, it is my happy drug.
My wife and I converted our small front yard into a garden. Growing means I can do something, even as small as growing my own produce for my family and neighbors. It helped a lot with my depression and stress from life, and we hope to continue to grow (lol) through the next few years. Love the channel sir!
Love your channel, Huw! Thanks for all the inspiration. Growing food from seeds is so satisfying. I love when the majority of our meals has come from the garden.
Ambling out to the garden to pick produce grown in my own little garden is a complete buzz. This year I’ve secured a local allotment, so have the space to really see what can be grown. #bringonthesun Happy New Year Huw
I garden for my wellbeing and growing food provides such a sense of satisfaction and pride. I absolutely love it x
Growing food mean's that I can pick varieties that I like and be sure of what I'm eating. I got an allotment last year but this will be the first year growing on the whole plot!
Growing food for me is witnessing the miracle of life, watching a small seed become a big plan and then giving fruit. A miracle!
Growing food for me is the achievement of putting a seed in the ground and watching it grow into something on my plate
I have grown food for almost 10 years and this is now a part of my identity. I grow food and cannot see myself not doing it! Knowing that I can provide food – the stuff that everybody needs every day – fills me with strength and sense of accomplishment. Plus, the priceless benefit of actually getting truly clean food, without the use of achievements of modern chemistry science. And not to mention the positive impacts of growing, caring, learning, experimenting, creating, sharing etc…on mental and physical health.
After a decade, it is still beyond my comprehension that a tiny seed can grow into a huge plant to feed you many times and save some for the winter. There is something profoundly primal about the seed breaking through the earth and becoming what sustained us, humans, throughout millenia of our evolution. So holding packets of seeds makes me feel rich and in possession of world's secrets, haha 😉
I love how growing food slows me down after a day of working. Justing taking the time to look.
I have only a tiny balcony space but I've managed to grow herbs, kale, small vegetables and it's been an amazing experience. Popping outside to harvest salad, or seasoning feels really good and tastes better because it's soooo fresh! I'm looking forward to learning more with Huw as I've only just discovered his channel and resources. Thanks so much for the work you've done and continue to do! I can't wait to keep discovering with you.
Growing food to me is a return to something that we’ve lost somewhat in the 21st century. It means I can show my children where food comes from and how nature works in harmony to provide a bounty for us all.
Such an icredible inspiration, thank youo so much for continuing to introduce all of us to your ideas and practices.
This will be my 6th year of growing food for my family, and I have learned so much along the way from so many great people. From day one my goal was to grow food for my vegan diet, in order to have control over what was in my food, as well as the joy of being in the garden for my mental well-being. As time has progressed, so have my ideals. Over the past year I too have been on a quest to not only become more sustainable, but also improve the environment in which I do so. Thank you so much for sharing all of your practices toward permaculture and no -dig, they have been a huge boost to my own practice and I look forward to the future knowledge we await for you to bestow upon us. Cheers!
Growing food is the most effective way to a calm, peaceful mind for me. I'm fortunate to have an allotment and am looking forward to my second growing year. This channel has been a huge source of inspiration and learning for me, so, thanks Huw!
