  1. Hi Mark, just wondering if you get tree roots infesting your raise beds and how do you stop them. I recently built a 6 inch raised at the garden lined with weed mat to grow choi sum, but 3 weeks in i see thick white roots growing in the bed. Investigated further, they came from the trees 4-5 meters away. How do stop the roots. thanks=)

  2. Question….
If I build boxes above ground like 3 1/2 foot high, they’re just going to be maybe 24 x 24“ wide for just small herbs and such, since they won’t be coming in contact with the ground do I need to add a few earth worms to each section???
Sorry if I’m not making any sense to you LOL…

  3. Where can I get those containers? They look awesome. I can’t garden on my knees anymore, and the wood containers are more work to build than I want to do.
I loved how you explained everything, Good Job mate.

  4. There is another alternative source for soil for raised garden beds . I accidentally stumbled across an ad online for anyone that wanted free potting soil. Find out about your local marijuana growers , they can only recycle their potting soil 3 maybe 4 grow cycles then they dispose of it . There is alot of good use left in it & usually they give it away . I mix some with rabbit poop & some compost in my raised garden best & everything has grown gangbusters . I have hauled in 4 pu truck loads for free , a full size pu , that I would never have been able to buy anywhere else. I have also just started a " dirt pile" of it for later use in other areas.

  5. Hi From the Gold coast Mark. Where did you get green bins from and will they last as long as raised beds made from 300X75 hardwood and do you have the red wigglers composting worms?

  6. Hi Mark, A new subscriber to your channel, Fantastic raised beds looking forward to seeing the results. I live in Halifax UK obviously different weather conditions, different challenges. Thanks for the videos.

  7. So you decided not to bother with the Hügelkultur method again? Is there a reason?
I'm about to put in 4 raised garden beds of 2.5m x 1.2m x 0.74m. I'm in suburbia so I'm currently keeping an eye out for free firewood and stumps to fill the base of the raised beds.
Would you recommend the Hügelkultur over the method shown in this video?
