  1. I just can't understand why everyone stays it's so easy to grow beets, radishes and carrots. I can never get them to grow! I can grow almost anything else, but root vegetables are my kryptonite

  2. I live in zone 9 and I grow root crops all year round. So with carrots, beets, radishes etc I can plant them in succession all year round if I choose to. Planted my fall potato bed last week and seeing some sprouts already ❤️

  3. Jessica, you can really see for those of us that followed you for several years, your all about content for social media. I mean setting up a small garden right outside your trailer and the space by the trailer. Your driven to provide content of some kind, no more about cost versus benefit. But I have noticed you heading this way for some time now, far to many animals for a family your size and the list goes on. What you are showing people now is not practical or is it sustainable if it were not for social media income.

  4. Loving the little garden set up! I was wondering what is the brand of that galvanized metal garden bed in the background? I've super debated over two brands of those type of beds but I don't know which is best? Also, I bought you're book "The First-Time Gardener: Growing Vegetables" I love it, it helps me when I get overwhelmed with garden plans. Best encouragement for just, doing, even if it breaks the garden "laws"!

  5. I tried to use your salad green in potting soil bag idea in GA in January, and it stayed soaking wet, until I put it outside, and took the top off. I had Spinach in Winter. LOL… It taught me that I've been missing a great growing season!

  6. I'm in 6b in the Great Lakes, but we have about 9 months between our last 20F night in the spring and first 20F night in the fall. For 26F+ it's about 8 months, for 32F+ it's about 7 months. So our growing season is longer than most other 6b areas. But our summers are much less hot than in the south, the nights and days all fall mostly in the 60-85F range, with a few days reaching the low 90s. So as part of my first year growing more than just herbs and cherry tomatoes, I'm growing more of a fall garden.

Depending on how that goes, I'll adjust my plans for next year. We might be able to swing some cool weather crops in spring in partial shade. So either cool + warm + cool weather crops in one bed in a single season, or cool + cool, or winter cover crop + warm + cool… depending on maturity time. It does seem like I should be able to get more than one crop per location though. Sometimes they can grow simultaneously too, like I'm planting stuff around the base of my tomatoes now that the lower leaves have been pruned off and there more light reaching the ground.

  7. Ooooh! I've been looking at soiling blocking for a hot minute now! They seem so, so wonderful for the environment. I did do a search on your channel… once you feel confident would you be able to do a video one them? Super interested!

  8. Awwwe I misunderstood, I thought you guys bought all those acres to do all, your home of course in private but your learning center and coffee shop etc there too..For some reason I had in my head you guys would be riding horses back n forth…LOL Maybe I dreamed that since I watch all your videos…Hahahaha..

  9. I was surprised that my cilantro lived all through the winter last year… 2019-20. Then I planted some in spring (kind of late) and it did not do well in the heat. So I'm going to put some out this fall and see what happens.

  10. I'm in York, SC, and I'm not sure I've ever gotten a hard frost before November. You might have a night or two you might have to cover, but we don't get that cold generally. Of course, this year seems weird, so who knows. LOL
