  1. I have the same starter! I named it Tamagotchi, yes like the little digital toy, due it's feeding schedule. Tamagotchi, was started at the beginning of October and so far, so good! Don't forget to put a rubber band around the jar, it'll show daily growth.

  2. So cool I can't wait to see how this goes! It is nice to see that so many people are doing this. I hope everyone keeps sharing any helpful info. I really want to get started in this.

  3. Started mine several years ago; fun fact: if you're too busy or lazy like me once your starter is established you can freeze and just take out and let it bloom again to use.
    I'm just me, make 4 loaves of bread at a time and freeze, so it works for me. I end up making bread about once every two weeks works out great.
    Better gut health with homemade bread also.

I made my sourdough starter from scratch which was 100g white bread flour or plain flour ( all purpose flour) 100g water then fed it daily for 1 week same amount each time but discarding 100g b4 feeding then tested in water once it floated it was ready to start baking with and its amazing now. So if you wanna save money you can make your own from scratch. Hope this helps if you fancy trying from scratch too.
