  1. Sorry to hear about your dog and the seizures. It’s hard to watch a dog (or anyone) go through that. We had to care for my grandma’s dog that had seizures because of a weak heart. I hope the medicine helps soon

  2. I am so incredibly sorry that you have to go through your dog having seizures, I know how emotionally draining it can be and how worrisome you can get. My yellow lab who is almost 13 years old has been having seizures since early august, and the vet has prepared us that these could be the final weeks with him as she suspects he has a brain tumor. I am 17 years old and I have always taken for granted having my dog (duke) for almost my whole life, and I know how much a dog can mean to someone, best of wishes to you and your family and those appetizers looked amazing!

  3. Hi Becky, thanks for sharing! I started to prep the onion dip and the bacon wrapped dates and realized your written recipes don’t match this video. For the onion dip, Worcester sauce isn’t in the written recipe. Do you still recommend using it? Also, the recipe for the bacon wrapped dates says to put maple syrup on….I didn’t catch that in the video. Is that still part of the recipe?

  4. Just an FYI, the alcohol "cooking off" is a popular but big misconception.. if you have any guests who don't drink, using any amount of it in your cooking could put them in an uncomfortable situation, so it's a good idea to just always be clear of preferences beforehand.

    Here are the stats:
Time Cooked at Boiling point of alcohol (173°F)
vs. Approximate Amount of Alcohol Remaining

    15 minutes: 40 percent
    30 minutes: 35 percent
    One hour: 25 percent
    Two hours: 10 percent
Two and one-half hours: 5 percent

    Hope this helps!

  5. So sorry to hear about your dog having seizures. I had a dog that had seizures and it is awful. My heart goes out to you guys.
Thanks for all of the tips. One of the things I have done with cartelized onions is to a big batch and freeze in smaller portions

  6. You may already do this sometimes, but I didn't see it this time. I like to zest my citrus before juicing them. The zest dries quickly for later use, easy to add to salad dressings, baking etc

  7. I saw on Instagram that Gizmo has been feeling better; I hope the trend continues! It's so scary when our pups are having health issues. Just wanted to let you know that I have one sad cherry tomato and I don't do freezer meals because I'm planning to move soon, but I've watched all of your videos simply because I enjoy them/you! You seem like a very genuine, kind person and I'm endlessly impressed with how you can do! Every recipe of yours that I've tried, I've really enjoyed!

  8. I’m thankful for you, Becky. I enjoy your channel because it’s not scripted or choreographed. You are just you…Wonderful. I’m so so sorry your sweet fur baby struggles with seizures. You can count on my prayer for your Peace, God’s guidance and puppy’s comfort.
Happy Thanksgiving Becky. I’m looking forward to Christmas with you. ☺️

  9. Hi Becky, I make the caramelized onion dip tonight. After watching the video, I went to Scratch pantry. There's no worcestershire sauce in the S.P. recipe. I didn't know if the Lea & Perrins was optional or an oversight. I added it and the dip turned out great! P.S. I didn't have any wine so I used balsalmac vinegar to deglaze the pan…totally worked! Thanks!

  10. If it’s any consolation, I had a border collie with epilepsy and she used to cluster fit. It was horrendous and she spent a lot o& time at our vets. It got so bad that she had to go to veterinary hospital to be knocked out for hours to help with controlling the fits. I really thought I was going to lose my furry soulmate but thankfully, she responded to treatment after the final attempt before “the decision” had to be made. She then had to have epiphen twice a day for the rest of her life to stop the fits. At the time we also found that she had a defective heart valve and a form of canine haemophilia. She never had another fit and she lived a normal life. I really can relate to your emotions. It is not an easy time but I am sure Gizmo will be able to live a normal life once you have got the fits under control. Hang in there my lively xxx
