  1. I am going to do the thin mints. I love them. I hate the added ingredients. I have a son with allergies so I make my own stuff as much as I can. If you blend the coconut a little bit will look more like the other one. But I think your look so much better. God bless

  2. When we get in the mood for Girl Scout cookies we now buy the knock off brand at Dollar General and they taste the same and are a lot cheaper. I use to buy a case of thin mints every year and kept them in the freezer and they lasted until the next years sale. I quit doing that when they went up in price, got smaller and started tasting different.

  3. This takes me back! In the 70's, Primary Children's Hospital started a way to earn money doing the Festival of Trees. My mother worked as a secretary there and was put on the "board". I was a little girl and would make caramels for them to sell (I know… but no rules back then). I would stir 2 pots on the stove at a time, barely tall enough to see in the pots. My recipe is 1 1/3 c each of white sugar, brown sugar, butter, karo syrup, and 1 can sweetened condensed milk. Cook to soft ball stage. I use a bowl for the cold water then my fingers can reach in and mold the caramel into a "soft ball". I love girl scout cookies and hopefully I can use your recipes using gf 1 to 1 flour. Those look divine! I used to make the thin mints in the 80's dipping a Ritz cracker into the mint chocolate. Oh my… the memories flooding!!

  4. My 2 favorite cookies!!! They were my ultimate favorite when I was little. And when I had it again as an adult it does not taste like the cookies I knew and love. So this is great when I need a quick snack.

  5. My Grandmother taught me over 60 years ago, to make the center holes in cookies or donuts with her gold wedding band to always share your love with whoever eats the treat. I still do this today at age 72.

  6. If you like the tagalongs or peanut butter and chocolate, they don’t require baking. Using Ritz type crackers, make a sandwich with the peanut butter, then dip in chocolate bark or melted chocolate. Easy and very tasty.

  7. So true on both comments. Love, love, love girls out cookies, especially the mint, peanut butter and shortbread cookies, BUT, only sold them once a year and two, the ingredients! Thank you for sharing the recipes for one of my Girl Scout cookie ( mint ). Thank you for sharing the recipes with me!

  8. Being a former Girl Scout leader and cookie drop off for our area, each council has their own bakery for cookies. The bakery is a commercial cookie factory. So cookies will be different depending where you are in the U.S.
