Now I've got Booker T & the mg's stuck in my head. Thanks Jeff
Empty glass spice containers are perfect for rooting green onions , save your empty spices containers !
I don't even root them in water – just plant the root with about one inch of the white bit straight into potting compost. Simple….
I like that water from below trick. I hear that works with water cress too. Any thoughts on watercress watering. Thanks for the good videos like this.
Yep I eat them like crazy
love green onions on everything..
Literally endless supply! I took one slimy green onion out of my fridge 34 years ago, that wasn't fit to eat + planted it. It grew. I only harvested the greens, allowing it to go to seed. I haven't bought a green onion since. Each time we've moved, I always bring a few with and plant them. In winter, Lincoln NE, I can go out when there's a foot of snow on the ground and harvest. My favorite plant the green onion.
Top shelf where Mom hides the cookies as usual Sir! thanks! (I have to try this one!)
Can you recommend a way to cover green onions in winter so that the blankets dont weigh them down, mine were doing just fine until the cold hit and had to cover for days on end. Never gardener here
That is so cool! Take care!
Thank you Jeff, great class today. Will onions affect the worms in your beds?
love your garden
Hi…Could you please advice how to protect dying carrots and bell pepper seedlings….thanks….
Jeff, lost hydro and internet for 8days(ice storm). Great to be back for more.
Hi Jeff, would you recommend using Magnesium Sulfate on the scallions, maybe twice a year. When used, in moderation, with garlic they seem to taste a little bit nicer.
Enjoyed watching this. Thanks!!!
You should make more videos of the berry plants like blueberries and raspberries aswell as strawberry plant, I seem to struggle keeping a strawberry plant alive
It was the first plant in my garden. My gf doesn't like "regular" onion but she does like spring onion. And she came up with the idea to regrow them in a glass of water and I kept on paying attention to the way they grew back but at one point they started to not really do so well and rot and everything. And then I planted them in the garden and suddenly they started to grow a lot faster and get really big. Now we do it every time we get spring onion: we put them in a glass of water for a week and plant them directly into our garden. Until they are literally everywhere in the garden. And her mother gave me a whole giant pack of seeds for different vegetables. Among them were also spring onions but I don't think I'll need the seeds for those, I have an endless supply of regrown ones.
Is this the same thing as bunching onions?
I am so happy I found your you tube channel. I have learnt so much. Can’t wait for spring to start planting
Jeff, beginner question.. when the onions are ready to be harvested, do I pull the whole onion out or do I just cut them at where you cut them like you did at the beginning of the video? Sorry if this is a stupid question
superb video. do you think we can do same for leeks?
