I was looking on Amazon for links for supplies to make these but it is so expensive to go that route. Like I said in the video, I would look at goodwill, IKEA, and other thrift stores for supplies. I hope you enjoy this project!

If you look on Amazon I got chopsticks that I'm actually used with my canning supplies and there are like 18 in long and they weren't very expensive at all I think those would probably work great for this. Just something that you and your mom could check out
Dear Becky, do yourself a favor; buy Justin Rhodes' new book called The Rooted Life. You will find it, useful, practical & inspirational.
Pillar candles are typically made with paraffin wax which is a petroleum product so, although I'm sure these don't smell as bad as the commercial fire starters, they might still have a toxicity issue.
Not sure if someone already mentioned it, but a money saving alternative to woodchips is the lint from your dryer! I made fire starters in egg cartons with lint I saved and wax a few years ago and put them in our camping gear. Not as pretty, but it works great!
I love this. We heat with wood, too! Totally going to be on the look out for candles all summer at garage sales and make these for next year.
Paraffin is a petroleum-based product..Are you using soy candles? I was kinda hoping you could use lard.
you mom should have her own youtube channel, she is great. but let's be honest, it's not her recipe, LMAO
MAYBE A SECOND HAND PERIFIN WAXER ?? THAT WOULD MELT IT BUT IM NOT SURE ABOUT HOW TO POUR IT
I always love when you and your Mom get together.
I would use a measuring cup with the cupcake liner over the bedding bag then use a espresso tamper to get it packed tight.
I really just enjoy seeing you hang out with your Mom, I do like the fire starters but it's the family dynamics for me!!!
You two are a great duo!! Thanks for the wonderful "recipe" with great tips!
Dryer lint and wax works well, too!
This is fantastic, thanks!
My friends gifted us fire starters in egg cartons but used dryer lint instead of the wood chips. While not as hardy as yours, it did work well enough!
all those candles are made from paraffin which is a petroleum product.
I LOVE the videos you have with you mom. She’s a great teacher and such a joy to watch … just like her daughter! I hope it becomes a regular thing!
Great idea! I use the cotton cosmetic pad rounds from dollar tree and hold with a pair of tweezers (will always be with candle kit from then on) and dip in the wax. I like the idea of having them burn longer. Thanks mom!
I love how Becky’s mom always adds in very useful tips whenever she’s in videos and, of course, how she supports her children’s efforts.
Great idea! The egg carton idea is awesome too!
Great idea and tip from your precious Mom!! Thanks a bunch for sharing!!!!
It's killing me that the bottom pot for the "double boiler" is Revere Ware. That stuff is gold! My grandmother still has and uses the set she got for her wedding over 50 years ago
I’ve made these fire starters for years and they work very well.
I use spent wax melt wax as well as candle ends etc. I also use tumble dryer fluff instead of wood chips and loo roll cardboard insert instead of muffin cases, just stuff one end with scrap paper.
I've seen these on Pinterest and always wanted to try them but was nervous they'd leave a puddle of wax on the bottom of my wood stove after a while. No issues for you guys eh?
