Subscribed to Growing for Market for a year, cancelled after that. Half politics, climate change, diversity, racial justice, etc. Came for the gardening, left due to the politics, don't need to pay for that. I"m just a dumb market gardener for the last 40 years, not smart enough to understand all that stuff, I'll stick with plants.
Like you said, two layers is the key. I use Agribon 30 row cover on my sensitive plants inside the tunnels. Because it's much closer to the plants and with less air space around it, it will give 3-5 degrees of extra protection. Also, most plants don't actually freeze until it gets a lot colder than freezing, protecting them from wind and rain makes a huge difference. I have about 5,000 square feet of tunnels, love them.
Sun Sugar is a lot like Sun Gold only more crack resistant – SO GOOD!
My last frost date is also May 1st I planted basil February 19th and they seem to have come out with a skinny tall stem should I pull them out and start over?
Thanks for the very comprehensive Q&A. A ton of useful info in this!
Thank you so much for covering the rope question. Shoelaces is a perfect way to think about it. Yay!! I can do it. Raised beds are useful for those of us who are aging and want to continue to reach our beds without kneeling in the future.
I really loved your video.I would like to set up a poly tunnel .I live in Vancouver ,can you tell me where you got your the tunnel equipment thank you
Such an interesting, helpful video. We may do that sometime. My husband would love to do this. I am an artist and I share my painting demos and studio visits here. So much variety on Youtube. Have a great day!
