I bought two of the greenstalks. We planted starter plants in one several weeks ago and seeds in the other (I am in zone 9a). Many of the seeds were from the package you had with Hoss 🙂 Both Greenstalks are doing fantastic!

I might get a small green stalk next year. This will be my first year doing my raised bed and I'm soooo nervous about everything. I think the green stalk would be amazing for some small determinant cherry tomatoes, flowers/pollinators, and of course those AMAZING strawberries!

Becky, I enjoyed seeing your vertical container. I just wanted to tell you about mine that came from Dollar Tree. One is five levels for salads … lettuces, spinach, mustard, and the second three tier one is herbs … cilantro, parsley and sage. I have a couple trays left that I plan to set out strawberry plants. Thanks for the great videos, positive attitude, and inspiration that you are.
Perhaps its time to put up a fence around your garden. That's what we had to do. They forage OUTSIDE my garden unless I give them the permission and open the gate. I love your relationship with your chicks though.

If you dig up another bed that you are not going to plant in that day the chooks will dig up that while you are planting in another bed. They are just scratching where you have moved the leaf matter as they are seeing all the dinner opportunities… I love chooks and that's what we did when it came to planting time as they always scratch where you dig up soil.
Just a thought…My Dad taught me that the reason you space out your seeds is to allow room for each plant so that the leaves get all the sun they can. If the plants are smothering each other they don't grow as well. A well spaced plant grows bigger and stronger. Also some plants can get their roots burned from to much manure and fertilizer.

I ❤️ your chickens! Mine will decimate a garden in no time, we have around 30 right now. We had to fence them out, but I let them in the gardens in the winter to do their thing.
