  1. Becky you can make your vinaigrette in bulk and store in the fridge. I used to do it for friends all the time who loved how I make mine. Just be aware that the oil will solidify, so pull it out a bit before you want to use it so the oils warm up.

Saves you having to buy premade with less than ideal ingredients.

  2. Becky you should check out Mary's Nest, teaches traditional cooking….She is absolutely an amazing, down to earth sweet lady. She is a wealth of information. Uses lots of the old grains, sourdough, fermenting, so much more.

  3. Both sides of my family have lived in the South since before the Revolutionary War, and I've never made fried chicken in my 65 years of life. I know how…I just don't LIKE it, it makes a honking mess, so I bake my chicken. It's what I prefer.

    I DO make coleslaw, though.

  4. Thank you for mentioning killing the sourdough starter. I can't keep mine alive either.
I have never done a pantry challenge. Haven't even watched one, So im looking forward to your challenge.

  5. I have ordered produce 3 times through Azure and 2 times were a bust… So I won't buy produce through them anymore. I was credited, but not worth the effort in ordering…

  6. The ancient grain aren't as high in protein as the traditional hard white and hard red wheats. The higher protein creates better gluten in order to get the rise. Makes more of a dense bread which I prefer. But….you can incorporate ancient grains to the traditional ones. Check it out on YouTube…

  7. It was so cool to see you get Silver Hills products! The Silver Hills bakery is where I live in British Columbia Canada. We go there often and get their "seconds" breads that are deeply discounted.

  8. That's a different salad to what we'd prepare in the UK, we'd use many more salad items and not frozen peas.

When I make coleslaw I use red onion, red or green spring cabbage, carrot and instead of all Mayo, I. Use a couple of spoonfuls and then natural yoghurt, it makes it so lovely and light.

My husband hates the texture of mushrooms, I love them, I love having some dehydrated that I can use for me.

Love the idea of a pantry challenge

  9. Dearest Becky, now is the time to stock up as much as possible.
Food shortages comming and you will also save money because of the runaway inflation.
Do the pantry challenge but buy the groceries please
    Be safe God bless

  10. There's something that motivates me to food prep when I watch you. I think it's how unpretentious you are. I feel like the youtubers who try to be super fancy and Pinterest worthy deter me from trying new things while you're just real and will show your mistakes and experiments.

  11. Thank you for sharing your grocery treasures and your kitchen prep time with us. I love having chopped veggies ready to go, in the fridge, too. It makes life so much easier! I was surprised to hear you've never made fried chicken. Oh my gosh, Becky! It is SOO good!!!! Put a little baking powder in your flour mixture along with your favorite spices ( I use garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika), dredge your chicken in milk or eggs, then in the flour, twice. It makes the coating extra crispy. If you're frying in oil instead of baking, when your chicken floats to the surface of your pot of oil, it's done. Have fun and enjoy! It will be so yummy!!!!!!!
