Question, if Sunflowers detox soil is it safe to compost them when they die?
Oyster mushrooms will also detox soil, but don’t eat the mushrooms that you used to detox soil. See Paul Stamets book Mycelium Running.
The end high tunnel tomato’s looks like they have that virus that is spread by leaf hoppers.
Two things. Love the garden tours being back . They are why I started watching. If this is a soil cube issue , I would love to know it. I understand that you don’t want to say it but I am struggling because I have a limited garden and curling tomatoes and peppers are all I have. Some backup to confirm would be helpful. Peace.

41:00 Killdeer are precocial they donot stay in the nest. As soon as they are born, they can run around and find food for themselves They may hang out in your garden or Mama bird might take them away from human activity.
You've inspired me so much in the garden and I can't thank you enough. The only problem is after watching this it makes me realize how much I have to learn because your plants all look so happy and healthy and it makes mine look so small and sickly. Do you fertilize your garden?
I ordered. 40 yards of the same soil you have and I dont have an issue thankfully, but I have been contacted by others who are. Its shocking from that company. When you advertise as organic, you dang sure better be! Thats a huge breach of trust. I have heard they are making it right though so you should contact them!
For experiment sake… I always get volunteer potatoes in the spring. If you got volunteers in AR- why not purposely plant out your home grown seed potatoes in the late fall? Then you also dont need to fret so much about storing taters (or as many taters).
Maybe not something to rely 100% on… could even try a few of each variety and see which fairs the best
Looks great. There's a lot of mulch on the ground with those beans. Slugs in your permaculture beds are going to be something to plan for. I know you're not supposed to do anything but direct sew beans, but you might try some in some red Solo cups until they get a little bit of a sturdier stem. In my experience with a massive lasagna garden.
I waited until tonight so I had time to sit uninterrupted to see this! Its a lot to take in and it's all so beautiful! I am so glad to know that you will be continuing with your raised bed potager style gardens as well. Your main raised bed garden with the pavilion in Arkansas and your glass greenhouse were my favorites! I just love your new greenhouse and hope to one day have my own in my garden. Because of you now I dream about a gazebo in the midst of mine with possibly a sod roof and veggies and roses climbing all over it! Lol As well as a perennial high tunnel full of peppers (for hubby of course)
Hi Jess. That looks very much like aminopyralid herbicide toxicity. I had the same the problem when I used horse manure from a friend. The herbicide is used to kill thistles and other weeds in grass used to make hay, and can persist through the horse's digestive tract. That curling of the new growth is typical. It only caused minor problems in the second growing season and hasn't since (but I don't use horse manure any more!)
What is your potato layering technique called? I'd like to learn more about it and get at it!!
Your garden is looking great. I’m sure your bursting with pride and feeling on top of the world. Your the only gardener I follow who plants okra. I grew up eating it but I don’t see people growing it here in OK. I grow Clemson spineless which my dad grew. Yummy! I can’t wait to get my first batch!!!!
Jess, I’m 60 and live in NW Montana and I am disabled and a widow. I also rent with very limited space and money all that to say this, you inspired me try to grow something.
I tried Basil on my window sill lol. Today 6-11-22 I saw my first sign of three little green growth!
I have been waiting and watching everyday I was Excited to say the least !

Congrats on your first tour! Have you send in soil samples to be tested? It would provide some good information for your next steps in either removing or ammending the soil.
Jess, you can broadcast mustard seeds to use as a biofumigant in your contaminated soils. In parts of agriculture India that I've visited, this is done at least once per season as a matter of course. Not as pretty as sunflowers perhaps, but quick growing and covers more area.
It can be chopped and dropped before setting seed to act as green mulch as well.
Dawn dishwashing liquid mixed with water sprayed on your squash bugs will help get rid of them.
I learned a ton watching you and following you for awhile. this year in 5b trying some of the tomato varieties I seen from your videos. Thank you!
Jess, we had the same issue one year. In the fall we planted crimson clover as the cover crop over the winter. In the spring we cut back and worked it in the soil. The soil was much better and we were able to grow a great crop of beans. Winter cover crops are so beneficial for our gardens. Hope this helps. Your garden must be truly blessed to have a nest of babies in it.

Loved watching a longer video! You guys are so busy and doing so many awesome things, I can imagine taking the time to make long videos and edit long videos is A LOT of work. Just know that it is so very appreciated and well received by so many. Thank you for sharing your garden and life and home with us. It truly is a place of refuge, for so many.

Came here for the garden tour, stayed for the bird 😀 Could you envision welcoming an ornithologist on your property who would point out all the different bird species you have locally? That would make a wonderful video we'd be willing to watch!
Oh that does look like aminopyralid contamination. It is effective at parts per billion so undetectable, except by plant growth patterns. If the compost is in contact with the soil, the soil bacteria should be able to deal with it over a it of time. But why the hell this stuff is even on the market mystifies me.
Maybe the kildeer will eat the squash bugs for you! That would be nice.
