I’d be so nervous driving with all those glass jars clanging about.
Absolutely love your basement pantry storage! Your sister in-law was so sweet to help and she was amazing putting those shelves together! Love the view you and Josh had a lunch! Just beautiful! It’s all a lot of work, but so worth it!
Just a suggestion, the buckets that contain items you don't use the most should be put the furthest down away from the entrance to the basement. Also, is that room air conditioned?
Lacey is a rockstar! Your new food storage looks great!
Labels on magnets could be very cute on the side of the black metal.
I would take the bottom boards out of the shelves (which would still allow the gallon buckets to be stored underneath but on the floor instead) and then use those boards for the 5th shelving system you have!!!
You inspire me so much! You have no idea! Thank you! ❤️
Hi Becky I finally had time to watch this video. Selves look great.
If they’re metal buy some magnets you can write on and put them in front of your goods.. when you are almost out or out you can put that magnet to the side.. that’s a trick my granny does.. loved the video!
Love it!
Becky your basement is WONDERFUL!!! Where I grew up (Spokane), basements were common. No so much here in Oregon so I have a hard time doing bulk canned food storage bc there's not the coolness of a basement available (and no air conditioning here). I love how you've done the organization in the shelves too. Great job! Keep up the good work. You and Josh impress me so much. ❤
Becky, so fun! Just a thought about the shelving being away from the wall. They should be secured for earthquakes. Also some sort of lip or cable going around each shelf so they can’t slid off with shaking.
Is Josh afraid to get on camera
I have shelves like your old ones. I used large pieces of medium cardboard on them and everything sets nice and level. Just a thought.
You may want to keep the wire shelves for you summer squash etc. for good air flow.
Might want to get some sort of bins for holding stuff together like the homemade pasta. That way you don't have it sliding off the shelf. Looks really good!
White magnetic sheets cut what will fit the plank support (i'ts metal!) so you can lable and switch it up. And you can write with whiteboard marker on glass that you can wipe off. Ore use chalk pen.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
One thought, please consider putting something at the back to stop jars from possibly falling backwards if pushed. You’ve done such an amazing job canning all this food and it would be a small addition. Some string, perhaps? That way you can still get in there and load from the back. Maybe a string at the front to prevent anything happening when you are loading from the back.
Thanks for sharing! Great progress! Fantastic storage organization!
So exciting videa dear Becky…wao waoo…you work so hard. Thats why you deserve all the good things..so happy to see all your videos…..and i can wait to see more….a big hug and take a rest too dear.
For security you my want to put a cross bar in front and back like 1×1 to length not to accidentally push a jar through
We microwaved steel cut oats after the first time we cooked them in water on the stove top.
Soo much work done today! Those shelves look great. Wondering if the place you’ve moved your canned foods to is temperature controlled?
Becky, you are gold! I have learned so much in the last few months that I have discovered your channel, thank you for being real, positive, hilarious and inspiring!
I wonder what the shelves would of been like if pushed up to the wall at 90 degrees (perpendicular) with gaps. Like a food library of sorts.
suggestion… Bungee cord or strap halfway up from each shelf to keep jars from falling off when you slide them in from front or back. Saved many of my jars when i figured that out!!!
