  1. I appreciate you so much Patra. You have kept me going every week by encouraging me to keep at it. ( increased growing more in the garden this year). I feel the urgency to do more, can more, dehydrate more( bought a 3rd dehydrator) stock our pantry more. Not giving up & I thank you for keeping the do diligence to always encourage us to do more. God bless you & your family. Paid off 2 bills In the last 6 months & working to payoff more

  2. Im 59 and working a full time job. I had heart valve replacement surgery over a year ago. I am still recovering and my garden is my place of peace and healing. With the help of my husband for the heavy lifting I am slowly getting my garden back in shape. This year I have had bugs I have never seen and over half of my beans did not come up. My tomatoes are not turning red. Its an odd year and I am baffled. I have cucumbers and squash with no female flowers. The bees are not here this year. But I am still pushing forward. I harvested some chamomile this morning and I am going to dry it and have tea very soon. Thank you for the inspiration to keep pushing.

  3. Hi Patata!! I have recently started following you and LOVE your channel! You are so right on your message. I know you support the Cherokee pow wows. My question is are you part Cherokee? I have Cherokee in my distant heritage but you wouldnt know it to see me. LOL Once again keep singing. You have a message everyone needs to here. Love ya girl!!

  4. Patera, i saw once that people were sending you blessings through the mail, I want to send something, how do i get your mailing address?…..happy 4th to you.

  5. The is our 3rd yr at a garden and although it is not perfect we do have one this year. We are still learning. Man do I miss my Dad and Grandpa. Question carrots. How do you get them to grow? 3 yes and only a hand full start to grow but then nothing.

  6. I went and had potluck at a friend's house, and back home again , for the 4th. The topic, canning and gardens. The blight hasn't been the problem up here, it's been Japanese beetles. .. going after beans, raspberries, plum tree and an apple tree. I finally got frustrated enough, after setting out traps a few weeks ago and got 7 dust. There was just no keeping up with hand picking them.

  7. My dad always used to say, we plant the seeds and God grows the garden. However we have to take care of it. We reap what we sow! God helps those that help themselves.

  8. and I need my kids and family right now. they live pretty close to me. and I do see them but not enough. But they grow veggies too in a smaller garden. and that's great.

  9. Just wanted to thank you for the tour of your garden. I have been gardening for close to 40 years. Love it! I've always said when God created mankind, He put them in the garden. I truly believe that we are designed to want to be there.

  10. I hear you Girlfriend. We worked our tails off before and during the time our son & family's visit. The day they left, I was back in the gardens, harvesting broccoli and cabbage. Worked at the office on Friday. Saturday worked all morning in the garden on the tomatoes and then in the house in the afternoon. Then took a break to celebrate BFF's anniversary. Yesterday was Sunday and we rested. Today instead of going to the town's 4th celebration, we stayed home. He hauled manure. We sprayed for squash bugs and mulched them. He fixed electric fence & got too hot. So I doctored him and got him cooled off. Then I canned cabbage. Did more laundry. Tonight I just turned on the hose to the raised bed. I thank God for my harvests. And I'm thanking you, Friend, for your example and encouragement. *HUG*

  11. I looked at our elderly neighbor farmer cutting hay while we were on our way to 4th of July festivities and definitely second guessed our choice. Well he broke down and we ended up coming home early so that my husband could help him get it baled up before the rain but I definitely thought of that lesson

  12. Just went to Sam's yesterday, toilet tissue went up $2, flour was up $1.69, canned chicken was p$3, cooking oil that had been selling for $11.98 for a 2 pack had been divided and a single 3 quart was $9.98. Potatoes had also had risen lot also. Thank you for your encouragement over the months to,"do our due diligence" God bless you and watch over you. Keep pushing. Us we are listening.

  13. I have been wanting to mention that sunscreen is very important. I wasn’t going to mention this, but I think you need to visit a skin care professional to evaluate the moles. I really feel like my inner voice is forcing me to mention this to you, because it’s concerning. Often times with skin if you are seen sooner rather than later, then it could be a world of difference in the outcome. I only spend 1-2 hours in the sun, and my kids have been very worried about my skin care and sunscreen. My son bought me a floppy hat for Mother’s Day, and I use it all the time. I already feel a difference in the protection of my skin. I highly recommend a floppy hat.
