  1. My husband is 83 and doesn't believe a thing that I am saying about needing to stock things. Cares not at all about what is going on, only sits and watches TV, I am ready to walk out.

  2. My mom has been canning my whole life, so when I moved out last year I naturally took it up as well. My husband is totally on board with prepping. He tries to get some extra cans of food whenever he goes to the store

  3. Patera, for me I look at it this way and it's real simple "a house divided will not stand". When one spouse goes in one direction and the other spouse goes in an opposite direction that house is divided and it's not if but when that house will collapse. Guess I am either way to simple with my thinking or from a generation where the household was the core of that family.

  4. there are two basic questions to ask. One. If we are prepared and SHTF does not happen then what? 2. if we are prepared and SHTF does happen, then what? The answers to these two questions will tell you what you need to do.

  5. What would Jeb say? That's how ya do it. communication about $ is the hardest thing in my household. Hubby works hard & we have what we need (food, extra food, tools, roof, etc…) and sometimes fun stuff. But i never have any idea what $ we have, what's out for bills, & what's being spent on non-essentials. Can't have a conversation about it w/out getting stonewalled. Your advice is pretty sound, Patara. But I would say to those who's spouses have nixed the idea, but go behind their back & do it anyway – thats a tough one. Essentially you are being dishonest with your spouse. How would you feel if your spouse was buying things you didn't agree to & you found out after the fact. I could tell you exactly how you'd feel, cuz I live it. It will eat apart your marriage. yeah, maybe you'll be able to eat, but you might not gain control of all that stuff you 'put back'.

  6. After retiring in 2008 I started reading plague and microbiology books I knew there was a pandemic coming everyone laughed at me. Now I try to tell them to be preppers and laughed at again, we will see who has the last laugh.

  7. Wow, that was awesome! Thankyou for this video. My Grandmothers were so good at canning and pickling. They raised their own gardens and live stock. I wish I could remember half of what the tried to teach me, and my Mother. My sister got the knack for those things. But I do the sourdough bread, and what I call, "fridge pickling," with certain veggies.

  8. Not even related to what your saying, Although I am listening. I just have to say, your chubby cheeks are very cute, Lol. I'v been watching your videos from 7years ago, ya changed just a purge or two sis, I just had to throw that out there, Lol.
And yes I am straight hetro, lol, So don't worry ya all
