  1. Im Polish so I can call myself a pierogi pro. So the real pierogi dough is made without milk and eggs. It's really simple, just flour, hot water, a bit of salt and oil. Look for a recipe like that and try this. The dough is elastic, soft and delicious!

  2. I probably would have just weighed the ones I was using and/or as I use and keep a running list of weights… and then let the rest finish curing in place and weigh later vs weighing and laying back out

  3. Hey Becky just and FYI if you store potatoes and onions in close proximity, the gases emitted from the onions will causes the potatoes to sprout quicker. Additionally, you can store your potatoes in a paper bag to keep them in dark place.

  4. Slowly about 3 hours it takes me to make my caramelized onions for my onion soup but so worth it! If you roast in foil and a little olive oil; some garlic bulbs; this are great in mashed potatoes as well as the onions! I want my potatoes to have some flavor so adding parm is a great addition as well. God bless and thanks!

  5. It is always fun to watch you work. Looks like you are really enjoying your new home! Something I have noticed about your cooking today is that you worked a lot in bowls and pans that seem a little small for the amount of food which I do not have to tell you makes everything harder! For the effort of transferring to something bigger you will save lots of effort in being so careful stirring and or cleaning up what slops outside the bowl. Do yourself a favor and get out those big honkin bowls and pans! Also maybe you can caramelize onions in your big elec roaster or your instant pot?

Did you get the stuff I sent? It's been about a month. Please let me know!

  6. I love Pierogis and nothing tastes better than homemade. I do however cheat more often than not and make lazy pierogi casserole . I use lasagna noodles, and make mashed potatoes with cheese. Layer the noodles and mashed potato mix of your choice in a few thin layers then bake and top with caramelized onions.
