I’ve tried two years to grow watermelons. I got 2 tiny golf ball size last year and nothing this year. Just too much heat maybe. Next year I’ll grow them under another plant like tomatoes to give them some shade.
Or you can pick watermelon up by root that connected to watermelon if ready it will just fall off that what I usually do with my cantaloupe and they in same family
We tried growing watermelons and the grubs ate all the roots and we got like a 3 inch diameter melon and that was it

I had a yellow watermelon when I was young in Georgia. It was the sweetest melon I had ever had. I'm going to grow those next spring early summer.

"Grow your own melons" I tried I failed with growing them on my body and garden. I'm literally 0-2 on melon growing.
