What a great explanation! Thanks Ben!
Honestly I wasn’t sure Ben-turn talked lol. It was good to see him do more than wave congenially (though that was nice as well!)
Eep, sch. 20 doesn't meet plumbing code… class 200 would've been the better option, cheaper than sch 40 and pressure rated to 200psi. And legal for irrigation. :/
I used to run a Ewing Irrigation Supply store, and we only had Sch 40 and Sch 80. I never even heard of Sch 20. It must be a code thing. You can't get it out here.
For the exposed PVC at the ends of the beds make sure you pay a little more for UV resistant PVC, or put them in little boxes, or paint them with UV resistant paint like a good outdoor paint. That hot sun will eat up that pipe and fittings and they get brittle and fail over time.
Went you put fittings together with PVC cement it's good practice to give them a 90° twist to spread the glue when you put them on.
Love Miah videos!
Excellent video. Easy to follow. Thank you, Ben.
Everybody knows you now, uh oh! haha Great Job!
Im new in the gardening and I'm excited. Thank you for all your help.
That really will be a game changer with the heat you get! Ben was fantastic!! I understand his apprehension w. being on camera but he did a fantastic job. Hopefully it gives him confidence to teach us more!
I’ve been looking for y’all’s video about how you dug the well for your watering system. We have 14 acres and we’re trying to figure out how to extend our water to our garden. Please help!
Man traffic is quite fast on your road, premier fence is must for kids, pet & animals
I'm very impressed. Great job. A lot of work. I've have learned to water my tomatoes plants from the ground and not a sprinkler. Thank you.
Is the p.o.box address go directly to you and the misses? And not amazon or someone else? I would like to send you a thank you card if I may?
Great job Ben! I have been mulling over in my mind how I want to set up a better irrigation system in my garden and this looks like the winner. (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! LOL) I have a question though. The stiffer round line you attached to the pressure reducer and also attached the drip line to looked like it went back under the end of the bed and over to another one? Or, did it get plugged and buried at the end of the bed you were in? I am a little confused.
I assume you clamp off the main black line that you punched the hole in for the hose nipple, right?
Not to be a know it all, because Ben is clearly an expert on professional irrigation installation and I am not. Can I share a helpful tip on the pvc glue without sounding like a jerk? The pipe outer surface and fitting inner surface should be sanded first. Second point is not well known but the primer should be applied, allowed to dry, then applied a second time. The second coat should be dry to the touch before glue is applied. Then the glue should be applied fairly thin. Excess glue interferes with curing and can create a leak. I think it has to do with not drying out, like taking too long to dry completely and then the water is applied before the glue is dry. If you follow these steps, the joint is going to be so strong that there’s no way to break it; the pipe will break before the joint.
I’ve been watching YouTube videos for the last 10 years trying to learn as much as I can about whatever particular topic I’m interested in at the moment. Your channel by far has been the easiest to learn for a beginning Gardner. The way that you break everything down and explain the things that should be common knowledge but aren’t to a beginner is the most helpful! Little tips and tricks that you have learned and mistakes you’ve Learned from and especially definitions and lingo. Thank you for all that you do!
great instructions, even a gal can feel that she could do it now. thank you Ben And Miah
NICE! I just have soaker hoses, but my plans are to make things much easier for myself and do something like this.
Miah and Ben, this was an awesome video. I'm going to use Hoss Tools system on 9 raised beds in my garden. Thanks for all you do for us. Jennifer needs to give you a raise!
If you really love her, lol, you would setup wireless controller that she can use her phone to control
Great job Spencer! Come back and show us how to winterize next.
More Bentern!
