  1. I understand the natural approach but even natural herbs/drugs have side effects. And the companies make as much money on them as big pharma. But the natural drugs/herbs aren't regulated so the effective component in them is not the same in each dose. Where blood pressure is concerned I'd always go for prescription meds. They are tested and used on millions of people so they are proven. Good luck. Don't mess with the possibility of a stroke !

  2. Unbelievable! They should be checking vitals on every patient that walks in the door at least. That is just unacceptable. Don't blame you for not trusting them. I don't trust them either. I was lucky to find a primary care physican that is a naturopath and covered by my insurance so if I see anyone it's her. My health has only gotten better through my own research and change in diet, no help docs and I've tried but they were useless. I'm a firm believer that food is the best medicine. Garden is looking good!

  3. Good to hear that you are on the mend,by the way did you have any luck with the parts for the shredder? I have mine finally back together after replacing the hammers, not a job I want to do again in a hurry!

  4. Let thy food be thy medicine. not a biblical reference btw. 🙂

doctors are just people. they have no clue the same as us.

i never had high blood pressure until i started taking prilosec (aka omeprazole aka protease inhibitors) via doc orders.

if I'm dying i will go to hospital. otherwise i will simply eat good, not poison myself with overuse of booze, internet and drugs, avoid controversy, stay active, get proper sleep, and seek the lord.

    seems to be helping me.

  5. Hawthorn is powerful medicine not to be used without close observation and proper administration by a professional. I wont use it, but will eat hawthorn jam any day of the week.

Natural medicine can kill too. Roughly 70% of synthetic drugs were originally natural medicine.

  6. I too had the experience of going back to the doctor several times and being sent home (all testing turned out normal). I was living up north where their was a doctor shortage. I went to a trip to my old family doctor while visiting my parents. By that time I was suspecting I was having small seizures (I had a few big ones in my sleep as a teenager, so I recognize the feeling). He started to look into possibilities, but three days later I had two grande mal seizures in the hardware store. Felt like sending the doctor up north a letter that said "I told you so." I think that doctors need to work on trusting that people know their own bodies. They know when something is off and not just a cold or flu or whatever. I think that's where natural medicine comes in. It tends to look at all aspects of health. That being said. My seizures are now controlled thanks to western medicine. If only doctors didn't feel like they needed to rush patients through, I think they'd be able to do a lot better. I hope that whatever you find works for you.

  7. You have lots of lovely vegetables in your garden. Sorry about your high blood pressure . Did the Doctor tell you that you must keep taking the ACE inhibitor. Once on them it's hard to get off . Nettle tea will lower blood pressure . BE SURE YOU TAKE PROFESSIONAL advice first.

  8. Here is my perspective … for what it's worth, which is probably not much.
I've taken blood pressure meds for 20 years now. I'm still alive. I intend to keep taking them. I kinda like living.
