Looking Goooood! I am happy and excited for you and your new venture of life with rabbits!
OAG
Starry is becoming quite an expert rabbit babysitter. xoxo from Arizona
I couldn't be happier for you! Especially considering where the rabbits came from. I've been watching both of y'all for years now! Oh, the standard Rex, wow, you sure started out right! I live in Ohio also and I hope that when you do make it, you both may consider doing a 'meet and greet' or something similar…? Just gotta put that out there! Congrats on the new darlings, you're sure to be impressed! We raise French Angora, Lionheads and meat rabbits here (Cali's and NZ) and I've dabbled in mini Rex, but the standard are NOT easy to come by. Thanks so much for all the wonderful videos! That goes to you and JNull0, and God Bless you both! Much love and appreciation from Pataskala!
Nice! How or what do you plan to feed them? Regular rabbit pellets or grow your own fodder etc?
Rabbit poop is amazing for gardens. Love the stuff.
Im trying to talk my hubby into rabbits, if nothing else at least one for poop lol
I think her name should be Doe…
We have had rabbits three years now. Great addition to the farm
Just some input I know that rabbits can breed through wire so I thought you could put some wood against the wire that separates them
If I had the space for a second breed it would be the rex. I really love my silver fox though and can`t give them up.
John and Roxy are beautiful! We have a chocolate otter mini rex buck named Danny and "velvet" is the word I would use for his fur. 🙂 Excited to see babies! Thank you for sharin'. 🙂
If you need any help with the conference setup my wife and I would be glad to help. We live super close to Hider Burkes and my wife works around the corner at All About Pets grooming and boarding facility. We had a great time at last years event and look forward to the 2018 conference!
Frankie and Johnny
You inspired me to get Khaki Campbell ducks! They are little ducklings but I can't wait for their eggs!
Welcome to the homestead John and Foxy Roxy! Oxox
Best of luck on your rabbits! You will not be disappointed. They are a wonderful addition to any Homestead!
I love your videos! All the best as you venture ahead with the rabbits. Love their names too. I have a Miss Foxy Roxy but she's a cat, a tortoiseshell, had her for 10 years now. I love your Mr. Peaches too. Maggie
Welcome John & Roxie! Look forward to watching your progress on the farm and watching you grow! Have fun, Miss P!
The very best of luck with your new venture, God Bless you and yours
I am head over heels in love with Mr. Peaches. Just sayin. ♥
What are you planning to do with the bunnies? You use them for meat? Thanks for the videos.
How about "john" being named "big john"!
good day to you Patara !! very exciting time on your homestead at the moment a lot of things going on and it all fascinating to watch. love the idea of raising rabbits for meat
I love when God opens doors like that! Those rabbits are so cute! We've talked about doing rabbits at some point too.
We have raised rabbits for meat for a couple years now, New Zealand Whites, but I love the color of your Rex rabbits!
The only rabbit advice I'll give is to look up myxomatosis. I raised rabbits for years and it is heart breaking when an infected mosquito bites one of your rabbits. I don't have the heart to raise them any more. Now I lure wild rabbits into the yard with comfrey and other goodies that help them make and spread pellets around my fruit trees. 🙂
OH! How exciting!!! things are moving fast for y'all!
I agree with Colleen below, watch their feet. We have been raising rabbits for some years now, for 4h. Don't feed them iceburg lettuce either. Good luck with this new adventure.
Congrats on the rabbits! Standard Rex are wonderful. Have raised rabbits for 35+ years in many breeds. You will enjoy them, especially when you first see those wriggling babies in the next box and when they first open their eyes and start exploring! We're expanding into quail, which IS a new adventure for us.
I had rabbits many years ago they are very gentle ! I loved the experience!!
