Looks like you are having a great trip. This year we managed to hit all 10 provinces as well as The Yukon. Cape Breton is special – we ended our wanders for 2017 chasing up and down Cape Breton attending the Celtic Colours International Festival for the second year running. We will have to check out the Hide Away Campground – looks nice. At least you were able to trim below 20 feet – my Roadtrek is 20.5. Not that bad on the Port aux Basques ferry but still a lot extra for 6 inches.
the parks in the states re free on several holidays. 15 bucks seems very expensive sine tax payers money already go to some of that
I have a great uncle that lives in Cape North. I use to travel the Cabot trail lots to visit him. Hope to do the trip this year.
Pssst! It's disembark not deboard.
Smart man u are..:)
Do you go through customs when you get off the ferry?
I so agree with those four old-timers…the best experiences are those that are shared. Glad you to are sharing them together and with viewers.
Beautiful views
Hi, I just stopped at the 5 minute mark because it is June 30th and when you said "tomorrow is July first" I chuckled because it actually is, right now, for me lol I am making this trip with my daughter and her dad in September. I am looking forward to seeing what I will be seeing. Thanks for sharing!
Paula, you are a good person!
Thanks, we are heading to Cabot Trail in a week or so, really look forward in seeing it for ourselves.
I've been reminiscing about trips my family and I made to Nova Scotia in the 90's. We were lucky enough to enjoy NS and particularly Cape Breton for many years vacations. Your video brought me back to the Cabot Trail vividly. It is such an amazing place in so many ways. I hope your experiences there were all good and you took away many wonderful memories. Thank you for this video which I thoroughly enjoyed!
Hey there, great video. How did the hills go. I'm off to NS in my 1976 VW Van. Original engine in good condition but I'm wondering if I can make the mountains. Any Advice?
I own the island it's mine!
Awesome video! You guys are a cute couple! lol
Hi we went to Nova Scotia too
Nova Scotia has to be the prettiest province there is especially Cape Breton.
My son and I drove this road last summer in a new Mustang GT convertible, it was beautiful!
However, for real excitement you need to drive the "Going to the Sun" road through Logans pass in the Waterton/Glacier International Peace park.
That's a real Mountain road trip!
great video!! if you had a regular hitch receiver would the rack have worked better?? they seem like a simple cargo hauler if installed properly ….. awesome vid
Too bad u took that first tiny turn out after cape smokey …. 5 seconds passed it was a monster one with washrooms, picnic tables and a way better view with trails .
You don't have to pay for parks in BC when you just drive through. At least that is what they told me last 2 times I went 2 years ago.
Did the trail aug 08 WOW ! Going back maybe to stay.
Welldone, awesome nature
Go visit Gaspe and Magdelaine island. Soooooo precious. Orléans island is beautiful for its lavender farm in 2D week of July (full bloom). Call first.
I started watching this channel last year for the great gardening info & jus seen this video. You did an amazing job showing how beautiful this island is & it is scary driving the trail lol. She did a great job, I jus did it on a motorcycle
I just did the CT this past August, in my 32 year old car in 32°C heat. There was a lot of road construction going on then, which meant dust and windows up, AC on, very slow speeds with limited airflow through the radiator. Perfect storm to test on the car's cooling system. No boiling though, managed to get pulled over and let it cool before any drama happened. That road is brutal, yet gorgeous at the same time.
You should have visit Louisburg just outside of Sydney Nova Scotia Canada It is really nice to spend a day or two you would love it . And if you ever go there try the black bread from the fortresses love it
Thanks for the memories !!! I drove the trail 20 years s ago ! It was wonderful !! My mom and son were with me ! We met a fox at a picnic area and a lynx trotted down the road in front of us – it was great !!! Thanks again.
