  1. Girl, I never comment and I know you can’t possibly read all the comment you get… but I am moved to say that the gift of teaching that God has given you is powerful, so evident and so good. What a joy it is to see him use you in such powerful ways! You do indeed bless me!

  2. You brought tears to my eyes! Here I am just putting seedlings in bigger pots and putting peas in the garden…. I just love your videos… thank you for being such an inspiration

  3. WOW, I needed this today. You posted this 1 week ago but I've been really busy and didn't have time to watch. I was binge watching some I missed and this was one of them. God knew I would desperately NEED this today. Thank you for being willing to speak the words He gave you.

  4. I love your videos! They hit me so hard! Even bring me to tears a lot of times because i just feel that shit so strong! I've been watching your videos since about spring of 2019 and you are just so informative and inspirational! I have been gardening for five years now and recently i accidentally killed a bunch of my plants about 40 out of about 200 i was so upset with myself because it was a total rookie mistake i had gotten sick around the same time we had a couple really random really cold days and i knew i should've brought them in but i just couldn't summon the energy to transport all those plants and the night before i had gone out there to check on them in the middle of the night and they were all fine so the next night i decided to leave them out again and that next morning when i went out to go check on them it was devastation in the greenhouse needless to say i was very upset and discouraged but your videos really help when I'm looking for a little extra inspiration! THANK YOU!

  5. What a testimony!!! Thank you, Jess, for sharing these insights. Your channel was one of the first homestead channels that I delved into. Hearing make videos about starting seeds in a plastic tub with a bag of seed starter, helped me find a way to start discovering my way into what has now turned into a city girls dream to own a farm. This year, after four years of watching videos and dreaming about growing marigolds and lavender, I now have two gardens started in my slightly over 1 acre plot of land, in town. All this time, I found myself trying and failing. Now, thanks to you and a few others, I know that my wait room was a classroom. It was so for not only myself, but my children and husband as well. God bless you, and your beautiful family, with your beautiful story.

  6. Jess I’m so thankful how you easily testify and share. My husband and I are literally at a similar point in our journey as you. We just know it’s Gods timing to build our house but it seems impossible during this housing crisis! Thank you for encouraging

  7. I loved this, so much. I am the person who easily falls into feeling insignificant, and like I'm failing, because I usually am. I have that deep desire to do something that matters though, especially in my children. When I look back at how worthless I felt, but yet I prayed, and I asked God to make up the difference, and help me, and I look at my life now, I can totally see that He is faithful in my weakness. How much more could I accomplish if I worked harder at "pruning the grass" in my life? If instead of hoping God would just help me eek by, what if I actually tried harder, invested more, and trusted Him with more of myself?

Anyway, just sharing what this stirred up in me. Lots of love and gratitude for what you share, and how you let the Lord use you.

  8. You impact me and my life sooo much. I take what I learn, how I’ve grown, and share show and tell. You are God’s messenger. ❤️ I’m sending an abundance of blessings to you and your family.

  9. Jess, you are spot on. It's so easy to get impatient, to feel like you're spinning your wheels, not making progress, or that you need to just give up. There are powerful teachings in the waiting. Thank you so much for taking us along with your weeding and sharing. I will remember to turn my waiting room into a classroom. God bless!

  10. I watch your videos in order, so even though we are already into June this was today's video for me. I want you to know that yes – this was exactly what I needed to hear, and strangely, exactly when I needed to hear it. Thank you.

  11. Hey! I know how to get excited about weeding! Let me share my wisdom then. The other day I got really annoyed by muppets at my work place, to the point I was boiling inside (I have low tolerance for lazy and stupid). And at some point I remembered that I still have got one bit of my allotment plot overgrowing with weeds and the weather was dry for awhile (Bonus! As it's UK! Not much sun for long!) so I could get rid of my anger and negative energy while weeding that plot and digging perennial weed roots out. That's a good use of weeding to get rid of some anger! 🙂

  12. I came back to watch this video again today because while I loved it the first time I watched it the message has really hit home for me lately as I'm watching pieces fall into place for a dream I didn't even really know I had a year ago. But I'm seeing that all the things I have learned along the way has prepared me for this homesteading life I am now so excitedly dreaming of and hoping to help others learn to do. Sometimes God really does know best and the dreams we think we are working on are actually stepping stones to one that we never could have even fathomed for ourselves.

  13. I do not have a huge garden like you, so I am able to keep up on the garden weeding- it is the driveway/sidewalk weeding that I can't keep up with. Not to mention it destroys my nails (even without polish on). I basically give up trying to keep my nails pretty during garden season 🙂
