Many of you have asked if I learned to cook from my mom. Yes, I did learn a lot of my cooking skills from my mom but what she tough me most was to be confident in the kitchen. There were hardly any rules around the kitchen growing up and we could cook whatever we wanted whenever we wanted and that allowed me to be fearless in the kitchen. I learned my organization skills from my mom as well. My mom is great at planning and hosting parties that allow her to still enjoy her company. I hope you enjoy this video!

  1. Sorry I’m still trying to catch up on your videos but wanted to say I’ve been impressed with you from the start. You always amaze me with your knowledge and cooking skills and now that I met your mom and hear your childhood stories about the kitchen I see where you get it. Mom……you did a fantastic job, Becky is amazing and an inspiration to thousands!

  2. My son is 13 months and helped my 3yo and I bake cookies for the first time last week. My daughter has been in the kitchen helping since she could stand. We have a kitchen tower that we found on Amazon and it allows kids to stand up at the counter. We’ve had it since my daughter was 1. My daughter helps me clean and do laundry too and my son will do the same as he grows and is able. I love the freedom you had in the kitchen, I had freedom too but didn’t pick up as many skills, and I hope both my children can grow up understanding how to run a house, garden, and kitchen.

  3. Unfortunately this isn't a doable task when you only have $300 max per MONTH for groceries (or even less during the months before Christmas since gifts come out of grocery money) since some of us poor☹
(FYI: IF you feel the need to reply or send me a message please make peace with the fact that I will never read it or even see it. I refuse to do the back and forth debate on my comments).✌

  4. I love your mom not wearing a mask. She knows the truth. I’m in health industry and reusable masks do more harm than good by spreading extra germs that are saved that cannot be cleaned in a washer and drier

  5. My mother was like that, she would let us make food anytime and I have never cut myself on a knife cuz I grew up not being afraid of them because knives don’t mess up, we do.

  6. Hi Becky: I am a new subscribe and I am learning a lot. I live in an Island in the caribbean and do not have all the space you have but that does not limit me from starting to plant some produce. You have been an inspiration for me. Keep up your good work on this channel! And yes, I would like to see how your mom organizes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I also started to prepare meals for the week, not yet for a month but I will get there. .

  7. LOVE!! And of course I would love to see you and your mom do videos!:) What a gracious woman:) What offers them the opportunity to entertain teens, young moms and wheel chair bound folks? This sounds amazing!

  8. Another wonderful video! Your mom seems so lovely! Now we know where you get your positive personality. I wish all of your videos were about 7 hours long. Haha. YES, DEFINITELY YES, to Christmas and Thanksgiving.

  9. I loved this! Your content is so wholesome and genuine. Keep up the incredible work! I love that your mom allowed you as a child to do whatever in the kitchen, I did not have that luxury and once I went out into the "real world" It became a passion to learn confidence in the kitchen and skills on my own. My family wasn't big into cooking, though we always ate dinner together. It was simple like chicken tenders and A LOT of boring pasta meals lol. Definitely will set that in place for my own someday. Thanks for always sharing!
