  1. First time commenting. I had to tell you that I bought the stuff to make the elderberry syrup and I made it today. I thought it would be hard but it wasn't. I added a little turmeric to it and it tasted great!!!!! Thank you so much for inspiring me to keep on keeping on. I am so proud of myself. Love you guys and God bless your family and homestead.

  2. Square stem, Cuucurbita pepo, moschata, & mixta = pumpkin. Round stem, Cucurbita maxima = squash. The type you cooked is a moschata and it is of dry sweet meat, makes for great pies.

  3. My Dad and everyone across East Tennessee used to call those "tater" pumpkins. Some of them can get enormous. He grew one over 150 pounds. They can come in all shapes and sizes and can be the color you see, and pink, a little bluish, even light banana yellow, sometimes with warts, mostly not. They have great meat inside. I've been looking for seeds for a long time. I never toss any seeds, all seeds are used.

  4. I comment every once in a while but your guys’ channel means so much to me! I have so much gratitude for you guys! When we were at our last home watching your videos gave me ideas on what to do in my own space. Now that we are in apartment and house hunting it adds a little happiness and helps me daydream as to what we can do in our next space! I had a really rough weekend going up to Missouri to see my ailing grandmother, I’ve been really sad but watching your videos are like little escapes!

  5. I’m not a cryer but I have tears coming down my face watching you and truly feeling your spirit. I moved across the country away from my family almost 2 years ago and I decided to try a little garden and that’s when I found your channel. I have learned so much from watching you and now I have 6 raised beds, 2 earth beds, 2 hoop houses, a greenhouse, a small dwarf fruit orchard and countless containers. You can’t hear me but I thank you often when I look around at what I have been able to do with just my two hands. Many blessings returned to you for the joy you bring to others.

  6. The pictures that was painted for you what talented ladies. They were both beautiful. I watch you and try to learn from you. I want to grow this big squash. You said from Baker Creek Seed above ground sweet potato squash and I am having trouble finding it. I know you are very busy but I want to get the seed so I can grow this squash as well as get the kajari melon. Thank you for your help.

  7. Squash vs pumpkin, what a scandal! Imagine if they checked the ingredients in the plum sauce you buy in the store….no plums at all, but pumpkin!
