MORE STUFF LIKE THIS @ http://www.MIgardener.com
How to build the cheapest and easiest setup for aquaponics and hydroponics! If this works, this setup could just be the cheapest aquaponics setup ever. But it ALSO will relook at the way we see aquaponics setups in the future. No longer will you need multiple pumps and reservoirs, but the ENTIRE system is a closed system much like nature is. The entire project cost me only $35 and here is the materials you will need:
14 gallon fish tank (or one like this: http://amzn.to/2bxSCsX)– $14
1 air stone strip http://amzn.to/2bPsMhN – $2
1 Air pump http://amzn.to/2bjuDin – $6
4 goldfish – $.75
2 (5lb.) bags of river rock http://amzn.to/2bp1eAG- $5
1 – 1X12X24 foam board http://amzn.to/2bjve3x -$3
8 – 2 inch net cups http://amzn.to/2bjPk94 – $2

  1. Good information can be found in his videos but they are impossible to watch. Just walls of useless noise; Like digging through a giant pile of pennies to find a $20 bill. I admit im not a people person.

  2. Appreciate Video clip! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried – Patlarny Gardening Expert Principle (google it)? It is a good one of a kind product for learning how to expand your produce with the clever art of aquaponics without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate after many years got astronomical results with it.

  3. No filter for the fish no established bacteria so you'll have to do daily water changes until you have built up a culture the tank is massively overstocked. No light for the plants and if you use natural light you can get algae in the tank

  4. Do not eat! Chemicals used to remove chlorine are not safe for human consumption unless started on the bottle. Let water sir for a day or two for chlorine to evaporate. If you want to speed up cycling use gravel from your other fish tank.

  5. hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to discover aquaponics diy try Morundan Total Aquaponics Mastery (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate got excellent results with it.

  6. Goldfish should have 15 to 20 gallons per fish or else they may get stunted in growth and die painfully. Great idea but maybe drop down to one gold fish. Even then they are so messy and without a mechanical filter I would use much smaller fish.

  7. How many inches for the root coverage? I have small beta tank I kinda wanna try this in its like a 1 to 2 plant for 1 fish size. But not sure about the roots if there will be enough room. Also do you clean the tank out periodically?

  8. once the roots reach to the clear glass section. the whole system will be over run with alge or root rot. root dont like light!. what u can do is add a divider so the roots dont go below the opaque section of the tank

  9. Gold fish require MORE than 1 gallon per fish please dont put 4, they already produce so much nitrogen. As they grow which they do VERY fast they will produce more. Becareful with them eating your roots since they are known to eat anything in the tank.
