Dern it. I already ordered my Christmas gifts. This would put me over my budget. Good luck with ur course. 🙂
Doesn't Elliot Coleman garden in a zone 4 or 5?
Yep. We're gonna need merch with "when gardening… you can't…
Watch me grow it!"
" Watch me Grow it." Love ya garden rebels rules eh.. try it. Lol
Maybe consider releasing dvds when the course is over as an on hand reference library?
Al at Lumnah Acres ( N New Hampshire) has a double wall tunnel. It keeps the tunnel nice for them. They put in their tunnel this last summer.
This is awesome!
These homesteaders are in canada. Good resource for cold weather growing. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuTlZUnykBqH1uwkZocGmzw
My brother has Crosslines Electric in central AR
Lol dang that was broccoli!! Love it
I’m sorry, but didn’t GOD tell you to teach people to grow food? And now you’re going to charge for it?? Hm….
Adore you Jess, but can’t afford this. Love your channel, I guess I’ll stick with that…
Nice video.
Is this an online course? I live in MN so I'm zone 4 and would the difference in zones matter in the course details?
Hello! When I see the big Brussel sprout plants I always wonder if people eat the leaves. It seems like such a waste not to do it but we don't really plant them in warm climate. Somebody could share why or why not to eat those leaves?
OMG I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!
OMG!!!! I would almost drive 3 hours to come get all your broccoli, turnip, rhudabaga, and radish leaves to can some greens!!! Yummy! I LOVE Rachel's recipe on that 1870's HS for canned greens. I did mine and loved them! Super addicted….It looks wonderful and can't wait to get mine in soon so I can also grow year round. I'm in west TN and we made a low tunnel for our greens and lettuce with half a trampoline frame and a tarp, others I've covered with sheets. All the snow and super cold weather has skipped over us so we are doing good so far. Whew, thanks for giving inspiration
With still producing peppers, are you going to try your the Baker Creek pickled vegetables with them?
Winter solstice was dec 21st for the northern hemisphere. We gain 2 mins a day from here on out yay!!
How do you get the vegetables to grow so big? I'm always jealous and slightly frustrated at how small mine are. Maybe more steady climate there, and maybe your soil is better?
Remember the food banks will be glad to help with your extras. GOD BLESS
West coast of Canada where I live there's a microclimate which almost never gets below freezing, except light frost at night. I think I'm in the only part of Canada that is the same zone as you – Arkansas is zone 7&8 right? Crazy that Vancouver Island and Arkansas have similar winters. I pre-ordered your book and cant wait to read it!
Peace and Blessings from a Canadian fan 🙂
Wow Jess, the high tunnel looks great!
Check out Niki Jabour (Nova Scotia) and Eliot Coleman / Four Season Farm (Maine) for content about year round growing in colder zones. Niki's content is more focused on home gardeners whereas Eliot's is geared toward commercial growers. Both have been interviewed by Joe Lampl (on his TV show Growing a Greener World), and Niki has also been on Joe's podcast. She's got a great book, too.
Love that crisp sound of the kale 🙂
Minnesotas DWG or deep winter greenhouse program has minimal to no supplemental heat to allow growing through the winter
Could you grow citrus in a high tunnel where you live?
