  1. I absolutely love watching every thing you guys are doing! Just turned 75 last week and have been gardening all my life , have pictures of me in a garden when I was 3 my mom had me sitting between the rows teaching me to pull weeds. My favourite time is early morning, it is such a blessing to be outside as the world wakes ups and listening to the birds. Things are cold -2 last night and the same for tonight . Traditionally gardening starts after this weekend. I sure am ready to start as my green house is over flowing!!

  2. There should be SOME rocks at your new place. Also, look for uses for branches and tree trunks and mounding earth behind a wood-stick edge. I love “found” gardens. I enjoy sitting in the garden, walking in the garden, snacking in the garden, and bringing in strawberries, peas, etc. to put at hubby’s side.

  3. Jess your such an inspiration! I got cattle panels today. And going to plant cucumbers and nasty oo er them to shade my salad garden to extend the season and use as a fall and winter garden as long as possible. I’m in eastern Washington. Thank you for the wonderful book. Going to get your new one. Love the kiddos!

  4. Ben is such a sweet pea! His eyes just dance when he smiles! My sweet mom was a painter and a sketcher. She had Dad and in the midst of being a military wife and mom to seven kids, she taught herself how to paint from a teaching series called The Old Masters . The books were gigantic. Anyway she sketched on everything but she did have her "studies" books kind of like a journal. She was creative like you Jess. She would have enjoyed watching your vlogs very much!

  5. I was wearing my Plant me where the wild things grow shirt and got comments from the cashier at the store and had someone ask about the website.

Also, inspired by your move and the transition with Nathan and Jill, I brought an idea up with a friend to buy their home in a private sale instead of fighting against other buyers on the open market. If it works out, they'll be able to upgrade to a dream home in Washington, closer to their family, and we'll be able to start the first step of our homestead. I'm so excited and just waiting for all the pieces to fall into place.

  6. Jess! Love the new-garden design 'reveal' idea – Go Miah! – but would you consider making a drone shot, or birds-eye diagram of your Arkansas front garden? Even a video with a birds-eye mud-map and a walk-through to review how it worked for you over the past seasons? Unless u feel it would be a security risk, of course, for you (or Whispering Willow farm given they're taking over in a couple of months).

  7. Now I’m going to have to buy another t-shirt! After the Growing Gardner’s class and following your channel for a couple of years, the entire time I was planting my garden this spring, what was going through my head was “Grow something lovely”. This is my favorite saying, and has changed my whole approach to gardening. Thanks for all of your wonderful content and guidance!

  8. Can relate a little to the rock issue, mine isn’t as serious though. We live on chalk and the soil is filled with flint. Plus there is so much building materials that had vanished into the ground many years ago and hidden beneath massive every green bushes. Once those were cut down, naturally all the brick and concrete was revealed…

  9. We purchased a modular 35 yrs ago and raised 4 children and grands in it. This past year we are now still in the process of remodeling. It was less cost than purchasing a new house and selling this one as is. It has been a rollercoaster ride for sure with the lack of materials and the lack of contractors but it is picking up now and we have just learned patience and being willing to wait until people and materials are available. I focus on what it will be like when we are finished and the entertaining we will be able to do again. Blessing on your new home.
