Hi Becky, I am a soap maker, RN and and a former essential oil representative with the company your EO is from. It is not true that you can use as much oil as you want. There are published safe % limits for all ess oils. They are full of natural chemicals that in excess can cause damage to different organs in the body, so it’s important to look those up on the internet and not exceed the max. When making soap and other cosmetic substances it is important.
Love this!! If it doesn't work for your eczema you may want to try a cost free very "old world" method of urine therapy. Use morning mid stream and rub it in. I know it sounds weird but it's worth a try.
We call this salve 'Ouchies Balm' at our house. The Grandies go to the fridge and pull the pot of balm out to rub into their 'Ouchies'. We keep the salve in the fridge as we live in the sub tropics of Australia and it gets quite hot here.
You can also use MCT oil (liquid coconut oil). Also, when using essential oils if you let it cool down (even a little) you will need less drop because strength and smell of oil will evaporate off and finish product with not be as potentiate.
Hi, is there anything you won't try making?
So enjoyed this video. It’s off-topic, but wanted to mention how helpful I found your Fourth of July shopping and planning post. I hope you will consider doing one for Thanksgiving or Christmas as that would be super helpful!
You two are too cute. Love the videos and seeing your family members too!!
Your sister and I have the same name… "mysister" 🙂
Love your video as always! I use makeup spatulas for digging into my salves, etc. so I don't introduce bacteria.
Love this! Would love to hear if you liked the tallow one . Could you smell any “beefy” smell? I’m having issues using my rendered tallow as it smalls “beefy” to me…
I absolutely loved this – thank you
I always enjoy your content and envy your energy! I love that your sisters have been joining you in the kitchen!
Well…I guess I’ll be dehydrating rose petals next year! Rose is perfect for aging skin, lol. This is a great recipe for many flower salves like rose, lavender, geranium, etc. SO expensive to buy and so many chemicals. Thanks!
i was just thinking about this. nice simple recipe. thanks
Do you have a video of when you rendered the beef tallow? Awesome collaboration with your sister.
Love this video thanks
Hi Becky a tip for the oils, add e vitamin it has a effekt that presents the oil to harsk fast.
I love these! Thank you Becky and sister for sharing with us!
I have a question – I do not have those flowers or any dried flowers at the moment to use in these salves. Could I still make this recipe somehow with just the olive oil and beeswax and if so, what measurements would they need to be?
I have never heard of calendula, is there another name for it?
I wish I could handle the calendula scent … it gives me a headache, so I steer clear of anything with that in it. Do you have any good substitutions? I have eczema mainly on my hands, also and use mainly FAB or Gold Bond when it acts up.
Your enthusiasm is infectious! I really enjoy your videos.
Awesome! I want to make this now!!! Thanks Becky and Sarah
I have always wanted to make this! You are a great teacher. I think I am going to make lip balm too with food grade peppermint essential oil. I have an autoimmune skin disease and I’m hoping this will help.
I grew calendula from seed last spring used the petals for my son’s bath soaks, as he too sufferers from eczema. Will give this a definite try!
I use Fractionated coconut oil. U can find organic at costco or natural grocers. Been growing n using calendula salve for yrs. I grow other herbs to mix in also, like plantain, yarrow, comfrey.
The reason I love your channel is you buy a lot of what you do in a store and show what you do with it for just 2 people. It helps. I'm not cooking 12 pll and I don't have a farm. But. You make me feel as though I can do all the things that I've always wanted to do! I also love that you are in the PNW. Really glad I found your channel!
