Just ordered the juicer / steamer. Excited to try it out!!!
You also work outside the home?! Wow.
Homemade Nutella?? Say no more!
If you have a kitchen aid mixer the attachment that goes on it that peels, cores and slices the apple's is the best thing I've ever used. That funnel is amazing. It will last forever.
Where are u located?
Do u have a dehydrator? U could grow mango and dehydrate them.
I made my first Azure order today!!
I recently saw a video where a woman used the peach pits and "meat" left of the pit, from roughly cutting them into slices, and even the peels, to make a peach vinegar! She said it smelled absolutely wonderful, but she hasn't tried it yet, because it's still fermenting. She sped up the fermentation by adding the mother from vinegar and even some vinegar directly into the mix, to help prevent the chance of mold developing.
She also uses those same parts and water to cook them down to get the flavor out of them, and ended up with a peach juice she turned into jelly! I think your new juicer pan would work wonderfully for that, and you could do it with any scrapes from the fruit you can. The one piece of equipment you got, to make applesauce, etc, allows you to just heat up a canning kettle of apples, with only the stem removed, and cut into 4 pieces, adding a little water to the bottom of the kettle to prevent sticking or burning. It separates the skins and seeds, leaving only applesauce. That's when you could take those scrapes and use your other new equipment, and extract juice. You should also try and strain the cooked apples over a bowl, to collect any liquid (juice) to add to the other juice extracted, before running them through the sauce maker. (Hope that's not too confusing!)
I've been really enjoying watching your channel, and enjoy your excitement about gardening and cooking!
What is the name of Sally Fallon's podcast you like? I can only find Wise Traditions.
Nice girl
I absolutely do not need a steam canner (so many gadgets) but the first time I saw it used was Cathy over at Northstar Prepsteader making applesauce and apple juice and I was in awh!! So cool! Aldi's organic chips are pretty good $2.19/bag but I love Target's organic brand $3ish a bag. Love your haul! I can't wait for Azure to be available in my area!
Hello Becky , you are always on the go and it inspires me so.much thanks.
I stumbled across your channel at 3am this morning while feeding my 4 month old daughter. I’m a crazy busy Mum of 5 (12 M, 11 M, 9 F, 8 M, 4 month F) and I spent the wee hours of this morning watching you prepare 28 different meals! Your energy and down to earth personality is amazing and I really feel like I’m in your kitchen with you! Apart from spending time in your garden and chasing your chickens, what do you do for work? I heard you mention work in one of your videos. Thanks for taking time to read this! Jen (Sydney, Australia)
Can you do a video on canning peaches?
I love Azure. They have products especially during the pandemic that I can't get anywhere else even though my local Coop is very good. I make my own pasta and the Azure superfine ground semolina flour is perfect. I also have a grainmill so I buy various grains and mill them. Their beans are new crop and they cook correctly. I like the ambience of my church location pickup in Ashland, OR. One time the pickup date was changed and I couldn't make the drop. I ordered some refrigerated items. The drop concierge held my items and I picked them up outside of his house. Moreover they're a "local" business, Dufur, OR., and my daughter now gets her Azure drop in a small town in Eastern Oregon. Way cool.
Why can't you just order them to drop the food at your own house?
My mom and I both order from azure and we occasionally go in together on certain items and then divide them between us.
I saw your Nourishing Traditions book! Life changing for my and my family's health came from that book. I bought it after my mom passed away from cancer at a young age. Weston A. Price Foundation is amazing too!
Quick tip on those peaches – cut them in half, put them cut side down on a baking sheet, pop them in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until you start smelling them (anywhere from 375-425F will work). The skins can then be pinched right off, literally. You can even do it with tongs, it dries the skin out and it releases from the meat with no work by you. And the peachy flavor is concentrated by the roasting, which is a win-win in my book.
You have all that sugar!!?? Are you doing your own growing etc? Are you a prepper?
I wish Canada had something like this ! USA is far more supportive & has way more options to help you guys live more self sufficiently 🙂 very cool. !!!
Hi Becky, enjoy your steam juicer!!
I am so anxious to see another one of your videos. I can't wait to see another video of how you organize your groceries and I can't wait to see how you're going to organize that pantry room. This is super exciting.
I love the way Azure works
Oh you can’t get Australian cane sugar? You should try it.
It’s a pity that cane sugar doesn’t seem to be be grown in the USA.
I always can peaches without peeling them… taste just as good
The sauce master is such an awesome tool. I do remove the seeds and skins when making my tomato sauce and it saves me SO MUCH TIME.
I hope you love yours as much as I love mine.
